FAQs
Is this program suitable for non-swimmers?
No, you will need to be able to swim at least a basic freestyle to use this program. You don't need to be able to swim very far but you need to know how to stroke and breathe.
Do you have to work in freestyle?
While this program is set up (and recommended) for freestyle, there are options to include other strokes at times in some of the sets.
I can't get my breathing right, will this help me?
Yes, there is information in the program about how to improve your breathing patterns. You will need to put extra focus on that before you start pushing out your distance. It does not take long to improve with some targeted practice.
Do I need to be in a 50 metre pool to use this program?
No, a 50m pool is not a requirement. It is equally as suitable for use in a 25 metre pool. It can also be used in smaller pools but within reason. A 10, 12 or 15m pool would work ok, but anything smaller than that will be a challenge to push out the distance you need as you will spend most of your time pushing off the wall.
Do I need equipment?
Yes, a kickboard, fins/flippers and a pull buoy are all strongly suggested. You don't absolutely have to have them, but you will get a lot more out of the program if you do.
Do I need a smart watch?
No, a smart watch is not required. It's useful if you have it, but the program is set using the pace clock which all public pools have.
